Mickey Guyton Reveals How Her New Song “Scary Love” Draws from Son’s Near-Death Experience

BURBANK, Calif. (April 26, 2024) – Grammy-nominated country music artist Mickey Guyton visits “The Jennifer Hudson Show” and opens up about the harrowing ordeal that inspired her new song, “Scary Love,” available on all streaming platforms today. In an emotionally charged interview, Mickey shares about a period of turmoil in her life following the 2021 Country Music Awards, when her son faced a life-threatening illness.

Returning home from the CMAs, Mickey found her son severely ill from a stomach bug. After three emergency room visits and a diagnosis of sepsis, Mickey recalls the terrifying moment upon arrival at the hospital when her son wasn’t conscious and the intense medical attention he received. 

Drawing from the darkest fear any mother can face, Mickey’s newest release, “Scary Love,” captures the profound bond between a mother and her child.
