Named one of Billboard’s Most Anticipated Albums of Fall, Heartache Medication is the follow-up to the California native’s breakthrough, Platinum-selling album, California Sunrise which debuted No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. As noted in The New York Times recent fall music preview, Pardi “split the difference between Alan Jackson and Bob Seger” withCalifornia Sunrise and “Heartache Medication continues that direction with honky-tonkin’, boot-stompin’ tracks about whiskey, women and song.

With title track “Heartache Medication,” written by Pardi, Barry Dean and Natalie Hemby, the “California native continues his deft balance of classic and contemporary country sounds” (Rolling Stone). The Top 25-and-climbing lead single amplified fan excitement for the new project and it quickly garnered attention from Associated Press, People, and Rolling Stone’s Songs You Need to Know.

Now a third time producer, Pardi wrote seven of the 14 tracks and co-produced the album alongside longtime collaborators Bart Butler and Ryan Gore. “I’m really proud of this record,” says Pardi. “I’m really proud of all the session players, and the songwriters that delivered great songs. I wrote half the record and Nashville stepped in and wrote the other half, and I’m very proud of that.”

Noted for “attracting youthful crowds” (NPR), Pardi knows he can share what he loves about old school country with a contemporary shine by making the tracks feel current, the emotions feel real and the vocals feel true to the heart. “I just like the fiddle and the steel and guitars all working together. This is not like a throwback, just a different era of traditional.”
