NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country Weekly magazine’s annual celebration to kick off CMA Music Festival has been announced for Tuesday, June 4, and features performances by some of today’s hottest country stars - Easton Corbin, Dustin Lynch, Greg Bates and Chris Janson. 

This year’s event, held at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Nashville, will be a night filled with great music for a great cause with all proceeds benefiting Musicians On Call Nashville, a non-profit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities.

Tickets are on sale now and range from a $30 General Admission entry up to $500 for a VIP table for four including a meet-and-greet with all four artists.  All attendees will enjoy a red carpet arrival with bright lights and a backdrop for photos.  To purchase tickets and to find out more on the VIP and meet-and-greet options, click HERE.

The annual Country Radio Seminar kicks off on Tuesday in Nashville. One of the highlights each year is the prestigious "New Faces Show," which ends the event each year. Five of the format's newest stars will showcase their talents for industry pros. Each day this week, we'll take a look at each of the performers on the bill. We start off with Mercury's Easton Corbin.

The native of Gilchrist County, Florida has enjoyed some big success at radio since releasing his debut single "A Little More Country Than That" in 2009. That song topped Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in April 2010, and six months later, he was back there again with "Roll With It." The success of those two singles helped to build his name at radio, and his sophomore effort -- last year's "All Over The Road," has cemented his name in the business. The set's first single, "Lovin' You Is Fun," peaked at No. 5 on the Country Airplay chart, and the title track is currently moving up the charts (No. 43 on Hot Country Songs).

Corbin told Billboard that being voted onto the New Faces lineup was a great feeling. "It's confirmation from radio that they believe in what you're doing, and it's an honor. Without them, we couldn't do it, so for those guys to believe in us and our music, it's a true confidence builder."

Though he is the first to admit that meeting radio programmers brings about many opportunities from a professional level, he has also developed personal friendships with many who play his music. "I think that's the most important thing along with the music is working is the relationships. Because, that's something that's long lasting."

Corbin has fond memories of the first time he heard one of his songs on the airwaves. "We were in the Gainesville area playing a show for the local station. It was my local station, WOGK, also known as K-Country. I got out of the venue, got in the truck, and 'A Little More Country Than That' was playing. It was one of those things that is very surreal when it happens. You think 'Hopefully they will play it, but it still doesn't happen until it does."

Corbin acknowledged that the attendees during Friday's show have seen it all from a performance level, but he is going to do his best to keep the audiences' attention. "As entertainers we put on a show, and that's what it's all about, so that's what we are going to do!"

Just what has Easton Corbin gotten himself into? The singer follows the wrong girl (or the right girl, depending on your perspective) and ends up an accomplice to a robbery in his new video for ‘All Over the Road.’ The clip will be revealed in full on Friday (Feb. 22), but the singer shared this trailer exclusively with Taste of Country readers to help build excitement.

Mr. Movie Guy is back to narrate this fun, 30-second clip that finds Corbin kidnapped and forced behind the wheel of a sexy Plymouth muscle car. He’s just an innocent store clerk, minding his own business when a brunette beauty with legs to the moon walks in and starts causing trouble. By the end of the teaser, it’s not so clear he is an unwilling participant.

The ‘All Over the Road’ video will be released on Friday at Corbin’s YouTube Channel. The song is his second single from the album of the same name, released last September. The album’s first single ‘Lovin’ You Is Fun’ became his third career Top 10 hit, behind ‘A Little More Country Than That’ and ‘Roll With It’ from his self-titled debut album. The ‘All Over the Road’ video was directed by Roman White.

Fast cars and beautiful women will help set the scene for Easton Corbin‘s new ‘All Over the Road’ video. The singer has shared a preview of the new video exclusively with Taste of Country readers before the full clip is revealed on Friday (Feb. 22) at his YouTube Channel.

The song is the second single from Corbin’s ‘All Over the Road’ album, released last September. In the video, Corbin plays a man who is taken hostage by a gorgeous woman, which leads to a high-speed car chase with the Florida-born singer at the wheel of a sleek sports car. “This full-throttle music video shows Easton as he’s never been seen before,” booms the movie guy who narrates the preview.

One more trailer will be revealed before the video debuts in full. Look for the next 30-second teaser on Taste of Country on Thursday, and then the full ‘All Over the Road’ video on Friday.

‘All Over the Road’ is the follow-up album to Corbin’s self-titled debut, which included No. 1 hits in ‘A Little More Country Than That’ and ‘Roll With It.’

Easton Corbin spent more than a decade honing his craft, so he’s no overnight success. However it sure seemed like it in 2009 when his self-titled debut album generated two No. 1 country singles, “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It.”

The singer hopes to continue his chart-topping ways with his new single, “All Over the Road,” which is the title track from his sophomore album and the follow-up to lead single “Lovin’ You Is Fun,” which recently reached No. 5 on Billboard’s country singles chart.

Corbin performs at Kuss Auditorium in Springfield on Jan. 18. The opener will be Wyatt McCubbin, a 17-year-old from South Charleston who recently moved to Nashville.

Corbin was home in Nashville recently when he submitted to a brief Q&A.;

Q: What’s going on today?

A: “We’re rehearsing and all that good stuff. We’re going to get everything as good as can be and then get back out there.”

Q: Anything different on this leg of the tour?

A: “We’re going to try to play as much new music as possible. We’ve added a few more new songs off the new record that people haven’t heard live and maybe a few covers. There’s a lot of excitement with the new single ‘All Over the Road’ coming out Jan. 14. That’s going to be a big one.”

Q: What are three things you can’t live without on the road?

A: “I like my good old bus; that’s always nice. That’s hard to live without. I like a guitar on my bus, for sure, so if I get any ideas I can kind of get up there and strum. It’s always good to have movies in case you get bored. I like a lot of Civil War stuff, Westerns and things like that.”

Q: Carson Chamberlain produced both of your albums. What makes him a good studio partner?

A: “He really understands what I do. We’re good friends. Most importantly he understands my music and helps me shape it the way I like and that works for me.”

Q: What’s next after this tour ends in March?

A: “I’m not sure. We’ll probably get a few minutes there to breathe, but we’re going to get right back out. We’re headlining our own tour now, and then in the summer we’ll be out with Blake Shelton. We toured with him before, so that will be good.”

It’s not hard to listen toEaston Corbin without thinking of George Strait. No, not hard at all.

It’s IMPOSSIBLE.

The 30-year-old country singer from Florida has almost the same inflection, the same pure baritone, the same phrasing, even the same dark good looks as the veteran country singer from Texas who’s responsible for more than 50 No. 1 hits.

Corbin doesn’t mind the comparisons, not one bit.

“No, it’s a huge compliment,” said a laughing Corbin in a call from a Chick-Filet outside his new hometown of Nashville. “There are a lot of worse things to be compared to. George is one of my heroes, definitely a guy to look up to.”

Strait’s legacy is a long way in the future for Corbin, but he’s off to a good start. The youngster’s self-titled debut album, issued in 2009, yielded a pair of No. 1 hits, “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It,” as well as a tune that rose all the way to No. 15, “I Can’t Love You Back.”

“All Over the Road,” the new CD from Corbin, who plays to a sold-out Dusty Armadillo in Rootstown Saturday night, just might do the same. The first song off it, “Lovin’ You Is Fun,” was released last February and rose to No. 8 on Billboard’s country single charts. The title cut has just come out as a single and is going gangbusters.

Kind of like the man who sings it.

Corbin is a workaholic. Or more accurately, a tour-aholic. He’s been out with big acts like Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton, and this spring, after finishing his solo headlining tour in clubs like the Dusty A, will return to the road with Shelton.

Those big-venue dates are pretty much classrooms, and Corbin is soaking it up.

“Guys who’ve been touring a long time – the Brad Paisleys, the Rascal Flatts, the Blake Sheltons – they’re successful because they’re doing something right,” Corbin said. And only part of it is onstage two hours every night.

“It’s definitely a business,” said Corbin. “I would love for it to be about the music all the time. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The stage time is the least time in what I do, even if it is the most fun.”

Fun is the operative word for Saturday night in Rootstown.

“When you’re playing in a bar, you’ve got the run of your own deal,” said Corbin. “You can kind of manage time how you want to and play more of your stuff. [Opening for someone else] it’s so many minutes and you gotta hit with the most you can and get all your songs in there.”

That means fans likely will hear more from “All Over the Road,” the sophomore CD that shows a surprising amount of growth.

“You definitely grow as an artist,” Corbin admitted, “and that’s very important. It’s always a growing process. I know there’s music I can do now that I don’t think I could do before because I’m just a more developed artist, able to express myself a little better.”

That’s really clear in “A Thing for You” and “This Feels a Lot Like Love” on the new album, and for good reason: Corbin co-wrote them.

“They’re me,” he said. “They’re definitely good ol’ country music. That’s what I do, that’s what I grew up doing and loving and that’s what I want to keep doing.”

Hey, it worked for that Strait fellow, so why not?

About “All Over The Road” Corbin says “It’s a feel-good song. It’s one of those songs that on a great day you want to roll down the windows, crank it up and have a good time.”

In September of 2012 Mercury Records released the sophomore effort by Easton Corbin titled All Over The Road. The 11-song set was produced by celebrated producer Carson Chamberlain. 

The Associated Press said “Country singer Easton Corbin radiates exuberance throughout his second album” while Country Weekly exclaimed “For anyone who thinks there’s not enough ‘country’ in country music, Easton Corbin has taken both hands off the wheel for his newest release.”

Corbin doesn't fit the usual Nashville niches for young male stars – he's neither gruffrocker nor frat dude. His second album displays a modern sound but a genteel manner, a voice that's a dead ringer for George Strait's, and loads of fine songs, from lovey-dovey stuff ("A Thing for You") to clever kiss-offs ("Tulsa Texas").

Cowboys & Indians: I’ve got to ask, first, if your stage name is your real name.

Easton Corbin: It’s definitely real. It’s actually my middle name. My first name is Dan, and my dad’s name is Dan, so everybody called me Easton. It’s always been that way.

C&I: Well, it’s a great name, however you got it.

Corbin: Thank you. It works for what I do. [Laughs.]

C&I: Before we get into the music, tell me what you like to do when you get time away from performing.

Corbin: I stay pretty busy, being an up-and-coming artist and all. You kind of eat, sleep, and breathe it at this stage. But when I’m not doing that, I live in Nashville and, of course, I like to ride motorcycles and shoot guns, and fish and hunt, and all that good stuff. I bring my motorcycle on the road, but it’s hard to get out.

Corbin: I’ll put it this way: I love traditional country music. I grew up on Merle Haggard; he and George Jones and Keith Whitley are probably my biggest influences. Love those guys. It’s just what I’ve always done. I never meant it to come out sounding like George Strait; it just kind of comes out how it does. Of course, there’ll never be another George Strait. I’m doing it in my own way.C&I: I don’t think you’ll mind me saying that your new album, All Over The Road, gives off a George Strait vibe. Very laid-back, easy to like. Is that style what you’ve evolved into naturally, or is it what you’ve tried to do from the beginning?

C&I: Of course. I wasn’t saying you’re a copy, by any means.

Corbin: Oh, no, no. I didn’t take it like that. It’s a huge compliment, because George Strait’s one of my heroes, too. The great thing about him and Alan Jackson and people like them is that their music will never go out of style. It’s not a fad. That’s the quality I love.

C&I: Same here. And I don’t think there’s enough of that classic sound on country radio nowadays.

Corbin: It’s a different sound on the radio right now. Not in the traditional vein; I’ll say that.

C&I: Are there other more traditional country artists in the game right now with whom you feel a kinship?

Corbin: There are some new, new guys … You’ve got Greg Bates, Craig Campbell. Dustin Lynch is kind of doing his thing right now, too. But I love Joe Nichols, man. He’s a little older than me, but he can do that Haggard stuff so well.

C&I: You were a newcomer the last time around, so how was making the second album different in terms of scope and vision?

Corbin: We were very blessed to have success on the first record — more than I ever thought, you know? So coming into the sophomore record, it’s one of those deals where there’s more pressure. It’s like, the first record’s out there, and now they want to see what we’re coming with. You’re competing against yourself, and you want the second one to be just as good or better. Honestly, I feel that we’ve done that with this record.

C&I: What are a few favorite tracks from it that stick out in your mind, at least today?

Corbin: You’ve heard it, right?

C&I: Yes, and I should tell you that the last two songs — the kiss-off tune “Tulsa Texas” and the ballad “I Think Of You” — are my favorites at the moment.

Corbin: Oh, great, thank you! The songs that I’m excited about, and the ones that are single contenders, I think: You’ve got the title track, “All Over The Road,” a feel-good song. You’ve got “Dance Real Slow,” a very traditional country tune. And one on there that’s really special and different — something I’ve never done before and shows a little growth as an artist — is “Are You With Me.”

C&I: What defining qualities do you look for when you pick the songs that will make the album’s final cut?

Corbin: Well, I think there’s something for everybody on the record. But I really just look for something that I love and relate to, because I figure that if I can do that, my fans will as well.

LAS VEGAS – The Professional Bull Riders announced that Award-winning singer/songwriter Easton Corbin will open Championship Sunday at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals on Oct. 28 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Corbin will take the stage at 11 a.m. to officially begin the final day of World Finals competition, where the PBR will crown its newest World Champion, who will receive a $1 million bonus and the coveted World Champion buckle. The PBR World Finals are the richest bull riding event on the planet with a total purse of more than $2 million.

For the 19th year in a row, the world’s top bull riders and the fiercest bucking bulls return to Las Vegas on Oct. 24-28 for the World Finals at the Thomas and Mack Center. The World Finals will consist of six rounds of competition. The first five rounds feature all of the riders against the toughest bulls. The scores from the five rides will be combined, and the Top 15 riders will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round.

"You have a long time to prepare for your first album, and then as the second one comes up, you're out there in the trenches working your first," Corbin told Billboard in an exclusive interview. "A lot of times you don't really have time to come up for air, and start working on the second one as soon as you would like. I did feel a little pressure, since we did have some success. You want to do just as good or better on the next one. I think we did that on this record, I really do."
