Country's Best Singer
Another album in the career of Lee Ann Womack is nothing short excellent. Her vocal delivery is smooth & sweet on every track. As soon as the steel guitar & fiddles kick off the albums opening track you know this is a pure country offering. "A Little Pass Little Rock" showcases Womack's suttle power. She can blow out a vocal with just as much emotional power as any Martina McBride cut but she does it without volume. The album is slow & steady for the most part but that is what this artist does in general. Her other excellent single on this album "I'll Think Of A Reason Later" is a cute tale of a jealous ex-girlfriend but a harmless one. The album actually closes with some its best material in the last three cuts. "If You're Ever Down In Dallas" is a classic 70's Nashville number with all the right moves & a great dance groove. My personal favorite is the Wynette sounding "When The Wheels Are Coming Off". She croons as good as any 6/7/2006 7:34 PM (GMT-04:00)
