The Randy Rogers Celebrity Golf Tournament will end the day with an acoustic concert by the many of the participating musicians. Confirmed guests include the Randy Rogers Band, Kevin Fowler, Ryan Beaver, Sonny Burgess, Steve Helms and Casey Donahew. Additional performers are expected and will be announced as they commit. The concert will take place at 7 PM at the Cleburne Links Golf Course. Tickets will be on sale Thursday, April 19.
With the help and support of country music superstar, and hometown hero Randy Rogers, the CAC will be hosting a Celebrity Golf Tournament May 14, 2012.
The tournament will feature morning and afternoon tee times. More than 250 golfers are expected to play in this event, and a full list of celebrity participants will be announced at a later date.
All proceeds from the event will benefit CAC. The center was formed to protect and serve the youngest and most helpless victims in our society, children. The center’s purpose is to lessen the trauma and help restore hope in the lives of children who have faced sexual abuse, severe physical abuse or witnessed violent crimes.
“For the first time in 18 years, in the president’s proposed budget, funding for the Victims of Child Abuse Fund, which is the only federally designated funding specific for child victims, will be cut,” said Tammy King, executive director of the center. “In addition to those cuts the Children’s Advocacy Center and other agencies in our community that serve victims of crime, will be faced with cuts in the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund.
“The center has worked incredibly hard to limit dependence on state and federal dollars because of the instability of these grants. This makes the work of our Board of Directors, staff and volunteers extremely important as they work to put into place successful fundraising activities that our community will feel proud to support.”
