No headling act would ever cancel or postpone a show because an opening act had to cancel...sorry there is no validity to that statement.

It Continues

I watched Sugarland last night and I turned to my wife and said oh Love Shack they perform that in concert but you wouldn't know that since they didn't show up at the concert we were suppose to go to, Keith Urban did at least. I use to love to watch them perform on TV now I walk out of the room, those of you that still love them, great for you. Me I'm done. I wish them well but if I had to hazard a guess Sugarland will be gone within a year and I for one will not miss them. You can't continue to cancel shows and expect to retain fans, the sound of her voice use to make me smile, now I reach of the remote.

My Comments...

I want to point out here that Sugarland is not the only band playing here. Billy Currington or the other (smaller) band may have had to drop out for some reason, causing the show to be delayed. I want to respond to a couple of earlier things regarding accusations made to Sugarland directly: No Passports: Sugarland just completed a tour in Europe. I'm sure that their entire crew was with them. All of them have valid US Passports, I'm sure. Wal-Mart & Philly Shows: What the fans love about Sugarland is Jennifer Nettles, Kristen Bush, and their awesome band. The people to blame for that are the behind-the-scenes people that we never hear from. THEY are the people to blame for this incident. There is no reason that you all need to stop liking the music that Sugarland plays or to hold any kind of personal grudge against Jennifer Nettles or Kristen Bush, or to think that they have any personal problems with the country of Canada, or its people (keep in mind that Jennifer Nettle's first band, Soul Miner's Daughter, was a gosple group, and one of her first public appearences was at her church in Georgia. I highly doubt that a Christian person such as herself would have any personal grudge against a certain nationality). I do agree that they should seek new coordinators for their shows. Personally, I still love them, and I have yet to see them in concert. They were in my town just a few weeks ago with several other bands, but it sold out too quickly for me to be able to get good tickets. Plus, I want descent tickets, not nose-bleed section ones. This group was before, is now, and will continue to be my favorite band in all of the musical world, though they do need new planning and organizational staff. That's just my opinion, if anybody really cares......

I was scheduled to see Kenny & Sugarland...Sugarland canceled (surprised?) and then the concert was delayed due to storms!! Kenny (wonderful artist) re-scheduled the show and Sugarland DID NOT make an effort to make that show either!! You probably won't see Sugarland in PA but Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney will make up for it!!! They did in Dallas!!

"It Happens"

It seems as though from other people's comments that "it happens" a little too frequently....I can understand an illness or family problem, but scheduling conflicts happening very frequently makes the band look unprofessional. I love their music, but some improvement in their "scheduling conflicts" issues needs to happen so it doesn't happen so frequently to disappoint their fans so often from the sounds of people's comments here on the issue.

Hello all, I just have one thing to add and that is that if you give up on this band you are missing a great show and a very very good group. Well every time I come onto this site to look at the schedule there is a cancellation. Love on the inside is one of the best albums ever, and I would so love to see Sugarland perform live. I'd love to travel over to the States from my home (Ireland) and go to a concert. But guess what? I have zero confidence that a concert would happen. Cancellations in Ireland, USA and now Canada. If it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and sounds like a duck - Guess what? It's a duck. Sugarland have zero respect for their fans. Accept it and move on.

Clearly, you are not out of pocket any money or inconvenienced in any way by the fact that they postposed their concert with only 2 days notice. If you have not walked in our shoes then, who are you to judge? And, if you don't care to read people voicing their displeasure with the situation then, why are you reading a thread entitled, "Sugarland Postpones Two Shows in Canada" anyway? Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, just leave it at that.

Toronto Concert Reschedule

I'm really not impressed that Sugarland hasn't even apologized to their Canadian fans for rescheduling 13 months later for a schedule conflict that should have been known well in advance than the few days notice that we received. I'll definitely be getting my refund from the ticket since Sugarland had no problems performing the day after they should've been in Toronto. I won't be waiting for next year's concert because I don't know that far in advance that I'll be able to attend nor can I trust that they won't cancel/reschedule again when the concert comes around. Very disappointed in Sugarland!

Canada shows

Well guys, now you all know how everybody in Ireland felt when 3 shows were cancelled with a days notice and there is no sign of them being rescheduled at all. The reason we were given was that Jennifer had laryngitis but funny how she was performing in Glasgow on the night the the cancellations were announced. Seems to me that there is no appreciation from the band for all the people who bought their cds before they hit the big time.

The real bad guy here is Wal-Mart!

You can bet that Wal-mart decided who they wanted to entertain their shareholders and then used their power (and money!) to get what they wanted. They had to know that Sugarland had to cancel shows to make the date but don't care who they inconvenience as long as they keep the shareholders happy. Wal-Mart has tremendous clout with these groups becuase of the huge volume of CDs they move. How would you like to be Sugarland's manager facing a Wal-Mart executive who says something like "you better make the show or else we may not distribute your CDs". This type of thing is not supposed to happen but it happens all the time. It is a lot of lost sales if Wal-Mart does not carry your work. Several years ago I worked for a company that "pitched" Wal-Mart Canada on running their annual store managers's meeting and that was there exact attitude. They said to get the top Canadian performers regardless of cost. They ended up with Great Big Sea.

I was just wondering if anyone form the Sugarland camp reads these posts. If they don't then all we are doing is just venting to each other. I haven't figured out how to send an email to a rep for Sugarland. I would like to let Ms. Nettles and Mr. Bush who disappointed I am with them. I have had other concerts postphoned, but it was 3 months not 14 months before it was rescheduled. If anyone knows how to get an email through to somebody, let me know. Thanks

We are well aware that they played a corporate gig for Walmart on Tuesday night and trust me, that makes them look even worse. If that was indeed the reason they postponed the Ontario dates then it just appears that Corporate America and the big bucks to do a private show were more important to them than the average fan who had put out their hard earned dollars for this show. I'm hoping that is not the case but whatever the decision was it appears that their Canadian fans took a backseat in the decision making process. Play for Walmart two days before a scheduled Canadian date and open for Chesney 1 day after a scheduled Canadian date...but postpone us....that makes us feel so much better and very important to them. This doesn't sit well with Canadian fans...trust me. As far a ticket refunds go, I received an email, since I ordered through the fan club, and it said that the refund would be for the face value of the seats, not the service charges or shipping since it was rescheduled, not cancelled.

I know most of you don't believe this excuse, but believe me it was true. I saw them on Tuesday night at their other engagement. To keep hostilities low, I won't say where they were playing. It is a shame though that this conflict happened and so many people missed a great show.

As a former fan who had purchased tickets to see them in Toronto last night, I was just curious whether they managed to make their concert in Pittsburgh tonight? As for all the chatter regarding the passport issue, that is garbage. Although it is true the regulations did change as of June 1/09, it has also been widely publicized by both Canadian and US customs officials that, in the event that people entering either country do not have the appropriate documentation, there will be a grace period and, as such these people will not be denied entry into either country, they will simply be advised as to how to obtain the proper documentation And, to the fan on Facebook who wants them to come to Fairbanks, Alaska - good luck with that, since they can't manage to make it to Toronto (for those of you who are geographically challenged Toronto is about as far north as Boston), I highly doubt they will go anywhere near Alaska!

you know whats a real kick in the pants? driving for 5 hours to Toronto and finding out five blocks from the concert that the damn thing is canceled! I had brought my lady out there for her birthday and we were all hyped for the show to find this out. What a bummer. I suppose I should have checked their website to see if there were any difficulties but at the same time I guess I just figured that it was their job to please the crowds and I depended on them too heavily to be able to come through for us. Its a mistake I won't make twice and definitely money I won't be spending twice on them. Just a little bitter about the whole experience.

Well people sure feel strongly about this one. I too had tickets to last night's performance in Toronto. I was very disappointed not to see this great band. But really, I'll get over it. I'll probably go see them next year if I have no "conflict". They are extremely talented. I would only like to say (to the band and its management) that all this anger and bad press could have been avoided with just a better explanation. Give people the sense that you're sorry to have missed the show. That everything was done to try to avoid it, that cancellation was a last resort. That's all people really needed. Instead, a vague explanation and still not even a response from the band! It all seems too cavalier. You have a website. Use it. You're busy, I know, so get an underling to write it, simply apologize like you mean it. A little communication would go a long way. That's just public relations 101. Still a fan.

I love their music but they just dont have their road at together, as Keith Urban correctly pointed out a few weeks ago when they cancelled as openers for him. Its a real crap shoot when you buy tickets for a Sugarland concert.

CONSIDERING THE PASSPORT REQUIREMENT TAKING EFFECT ON JUNE 1 AND THE CANCELLATION ANNONCUED ON JUNE 2ND AND THE SHOWS JUNE 4&5TH THIS MAKES FOR LOGICAL TIMELINE CASE. I AM SURE THAT THE MAIN PLAYERS AND SUGARLAND HAD PASSPORTS I AM TALKING ABOUT THE ROAD CREW FOR THE BAND AND THE OPENING ACT ETC. WHO DO N.A. TOUR DATES. WHEN SUGALAND GOES TO EUROPE THEY WOULD USE ROAD CREWS THAT ARE FAMILLAR WITH THE EUROPEAN CITES THEY WOULD BE PLAYING IN AND ARE USUALLY SUPPLIED BY THE LOCAL TOUR OPERATORS. THE SECOND ONE THAT WAS THAT HER VOICE IS SHOT AND COULD NOT DO THE SHOWS. THIS ONE IS ALSO POSSIBLE AND MAY BE TRUE ESPECIALLY IF THEY MISS THIER SHOWS IN PA, USA THAT WHERE AND ARE TO COME RIGHT AFTER TORONTO SHOW. Disappointed.

Very disappointed in the cancellation. Love the music but sure wish they could have figured out their schedule issues long before the week before their concert date at JLC in London. Got my refund already. Who knows what the next year will bring!

Very easy to get refund if tickets held at box office

I called ticketmaster as the email and voice mail we got said if you bought your ticket online you had to mail/courier it in for refund. After waiting 40 minutes on phone, they said oh that's easy, if it's held at box office, I can refund your ticket now. So it should be on my credit cad by now. I'm ticked too, I don't think a "scheduling conflict" wouldn't be known long before 3 days in advance and there is no way I'm commiting to a concert July 10 next year when I'm often on vacation the first week or so of July. Though im sure the disappointment is huge, i don’t understand how people are soo upset! I am sure if i were in this situation i would be sad too but Sugarland is made up of a band of human beings who are not perfect everytime..Things happen...If i had tickets to the show i would be happy that they were coming back..a lot of people only dream about seeing them in concert. i hope everything is okay with the families and hope for the best..they do care for the fact that they are coming back..although it is a loonnngg ways away, they still are going there..and the whole passport thing they were in Europe this year so its not that.. Do not give up on them for they have not given up on their fans of Canada..they are coming back.

To the person who claims he can't get his money, obviously you didn't even check. It's been posted at both venues and all over this board that refunds are available. Also, how gullible can people be, believing that members of the band didn't have passports. That's another made up story by another so called fan. They've already been to Europe this year with their passports. And let's see "scheduling conflicts" can mean a whole lot of different things, such as don't be so nosey. When people get divorced and they say "irreconcilable differences" do they list every reason whey they are getting divorced? Of course, not. Pity, Pity that these are the only things you have to worry about in life.

Canadian Cancellations...

It would be better for the real reason for the cancellation to be issued -- "scheduling conflict" makes no sense. The story circulating here is that several mambers of the crew/band did not have U.S. passports, which as of June 1 are required to enter Canada. Crazy enough to be true....

I think that the fame has gone to your head. And this is a shameful way to treat your fans. I recall seeing country legend George Strait when he came to Toronto, and he perfromed even though he was sick and had a very sore throat. He is a true professional. You toured with him, but obviously you learned nothing of what it is to have the level of class that he does. You are nothing but a talentless flash in the pan. I am a disabled individual who had to go to great lengths to make plans to come and see your show, and now I have to cancel all of those plans. I am not stupid. Scheduling conflict = something better came along. I regret purchasing your CD's, and would return them for a refund them today if it were possible. I am very angry, and I'm now done with you. To all those who think "the band" can do no wrong

I live in a world where people are held accountable for their decisions and actions. Artists aren't above that and they need to know that what they did (or at least what they tried to hide they were doing) was not ok. Even if it was the decision of someone else in their camp, but I assure you they would have been consulted, they are ultimately accountable because they are the product. I don't question whether they are nice people or not. I'm sure they are like all of us and have good days and bad ones, but this decision is what is in question. The way it was handled is questionable. You would have to be here to really know how this has been perceived and I can assure you that their reputation has taken a hit because of it. They and their management need to learn from it and think a little more before they do this again. Its not just the fans. My morning DJ, and this is the most listened to country radio station in all of Canada, is all over them about it. She, like me, loves their music. We aren't naive enough to buy the reason they put out there. They should have straight up given the real reason. Any artist who did this would receive the same response. Now they will have to put on their big boy and girl pants and deal with the fall-out.

Wish all I had to worry about was a postponed concert

Wow! Wish all I had to complain about or worry about was a postponed concert. In my community yesterday, a 12 and 6 year old lost their parents and brother, as well as their house in a tragic fire. Another person I know, lost their job and wonders how they will get by financially. Another person down the street, lost a loved one to cancer. So you people are so lucky to have just a concert to worry about. I would feel so guilty if I were complaining about something so small. I also would hate to be a member of your family, if your not even allowed to get sick or have a family emergency. You must all be saints to be at your jobs 100% of the time. How sad. Let's see I believe Sugarland has canceled maybe 3 shows last year, because of illness, out of maybe 150 or more they perform a year.

Cancellations are normal for this group

I was a huge Sugarland fan. I bought tickets to attend my first Sugarland concert in Pennsylvania in October 2008. They cancelled a day before the concert. Ok, I tried again. They were to appear again in Pennsylvania in May 2009 with Keith Urban. Cancelled again. We still saw Keith put on a fantastic show, but with a local band opening. A local band. For the same price. I still enjoy Sugarland's music, but will never put myself through trying to see another one of their concerts.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!

We were going to start off a fantastic weekend with my 3 closest girlfriends with the concert. We had been looking forward to this for months!!!!! I am very upset about the cancellation, especially because it is postponed until NEXT YEAR, and I will no longer be living in North America. We are all big fans of country music, and will no longer be supporting this band. I only wish they would give a real reason, scheduling conflicts are not an excuse.

What happened to the benefit of a doubt.....

I am so sorry for the fans that this concert was postponed. But how do we really know for what reason. What if a member of Jennifer's family, such as her mom, had to have surgery that just came up. Jennifer's a very private person and she may not want to share that with the world. She knew she couldn't perform as well as the fans deserve and maybe had no other choice. What if it was a member of Kristian's family, maybe one of his kids that had to have some procedure done, that he was really concerned about. Kristian and Jennifer deserve their privacy, they don't have to share everything with us. I can understand the disappointment, but it was just a concert and it has been rescheduled. I know people who have lost their homes, jobs, everything in this economy and wish they just had a concert to worry about. Do you think they really wanted to disappoint their fans? Of course not!! And they're not stupid, they know that people are going to be angry, maybe not come to their shows anymore, but this was out of their control. Also, if you look at the bottom of every ticket you buy to any live show, it says it could be canceled or postponed. I know I take that chance everytime I purchase a ticket, make hotel reservations and plan a trip to see a show. And believe me, I don't have a lot of money, but I still take that risk. Remember, life happens and no human being can control it. Let's all think positive and hope that everything is alright with Jennifer's and Kristian's familys. Any smart person knows an artist is not going to change a performance if it can be avoided.

i agree with the person below me. i am a HUGE Sugarland fan and i was looking forward to this concert for months. when i first found out the concert was cancelled i was disapointed, angry and upset, and i thought my world was coming to an end. but now im over it and have moved on. (although im still disapointed that i have to wait til next year to see them) im still a true fan and will continue to support and love Sugarland.

June 5 th cancellation

Our family has had a very rough year financially and emotionally. We had to move from our home recently and five days later my husband had a heart attack and then a triple by-pass. Sugarland is my daughter's favourite band. It is her sixtenth birthday this July and she asked if she could celebrate with going to the concert. A very good friend was able to procure four tickets by calling in some favors so she could go. I was hoping that this evening could make up for the disappoinment she has had to endure this last year. This was going to be a memory for her to cherish.My heart broke when we had to tell her the show was cancelled until next year. If it was cancelled later this year that would have still been great but a year is a lifetime for her. Just one more disappointment for her this year. Broken hearted mom

I was very upset to hear that the show had been postponed till July 2010? A real artist does not treat their fans with such disrespect. I will not ever buy a cd of theirs. I will download all their music for free if I even decide to listen to it anymore. I do not respect this band anymore. And I will get my money back from this ticket and go see a REAL band like KEITH URBAN who would never treat fans like this. You know, I wouldn't be so upset about Sugarland postponing their dates if the new date wasn't so far away! I mean 2010!? Who actually knows what they are doing in July of 2010? NOT me! When I first read this, I thought it was a typo! I feel very sorry for the people who have traveled a great distance to see Sugarland. Luckily I am from the London area, so I did not make travel arrangements. Perhaps this isn't directly Sugarland's fault- but seriously it is about time they hire a new scheduling agent/company! I am very disappointed in the length of time given between the concert being postponed and the original date....2 days!? COME ON! I might expect this from a garage band playing in downtown London- but NOT Sugarland! This is totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I am devastated by the TWO DAY cancellation that you guys just laid on us. I not only think its unprofessional but just not right... you don't do that... I don't care if your the President of the United States for Gods sakes. I just got into country music about a year ago from listening to Taylor Swift... and somehow got a hold of you guys.. I then shared this music with a whole bunch of my friends and we all started to become great fans. So...this is the 3rd Sugarland show that I was supposed to attend, but couldn't because they cancelled. I was coming all the way from south eastern Pennsylvania for the Friday show in Toronto. Believe me...I completely and totally, 110% understand the disappointment and the feeling of let down. I am one of the biggest Sugarland fans you'll ever meet...and I will absolutely continue to support them and love them, even tho I think the reasoning for this postponment is absolutely ridiculous. These shows were scheduled for how long...and a few days beforehand they all of a sudden backout, what gives? However, all I ask is that maybe we shouldn't be taking this out on the BAND...as in Jennifer & Kristian. They often don't have much to say when it comes to what their schedule is. Their tour managment is who takes care of all of that. So...if I were J&K I would be rethinking my tour management staff...as, in my opinion, they should have done a long time ago. That's just my take on the whole situation.

To all you fans who say get over it, put yourselves in our shoes. People are out the cash for hotels, plane tickets etc. People have re-arranged their plans to go to the concert. I know in the whole scheme of things it's not a big deal, life goes on, nobody's died and Sugarland will continue to make millions but maybe not in Southwestern ON. If they just would have explained a bit why they are postponing it would have been fine. But there has been no comment. Let them cancel in your town 2 nights before a show, then talk to us.

Well, after hearing the very disappointing news on the radio yesterday, I went on the Ticketmaster website as this is where I had purchased my tickets. There was NOTHING about the cancellation, so I called them. The lady I spoke with told me that "the news will be on the website tomorrow". TWO DAYS BEFORE THE SHOW??? Then today, I see that they rescheduled for 13 MONTHS LATER? What a joke. I spent about 1/2 hour on hold with Ticketmaster to get the refund for the 6 tickets we had purchased. How are we supposed to know what our schedules will be 13 months from now, and SugarLand can't even figure theirs out 3 days before a concert? I wonder about the truth behind the cancellation. Are they really that stupid? I doubt it.

i have already driven the 500 miles to be at the concert. I got over the meet and greet cancellation, which we paid $1800 for 3 tickets. Two days before the concert they cancel altogether? I appologise for criticizing people for complaining in an earlier post. I understood cancelling for illness. Schedule conflict? so screw up 50,000 other people's schedule. VERY NICE. I will not be able to support this group in anyway in the future. I suggest everyone get a refund, and no one go to the next show. I will continue to give all of our support to Keith Urban.

For those of you saying that this "postponing" is not a big deal and life is full of disappointments and get over it, I think you might be missing the point. I think no matter what the reasoning for cancelling the ontario dates they probably did not consider the fans. First of all no notice was given and secondly the date chosen is over a year away. I think that the people on here telling their stories of lost money, disappointed children, etc... are really showing the impact that these sorts of decisions make on the fans. I'm sure that sugarland and their management did not think of these individual cases when making their decision. I think we are owed an apology and an explanation b/c I am personally feeling betrayed, and if you dont care about your fans then why should they care about you?

I am extremely disappointed (and actually quite angry) that Sugarland couldn't offer a better explanation for "postponing" the concert a year later. I was really looking forward to this concert, as were a lot of dedicated fans, and it is very unfortunate they treated their fans with such a lack of respect. I am so unimpressed with this whole ordeal ... seriously, you couldn't do any better? And as far as "scheduling conflict" being a cover-up - I don't care if the real reason is a death/illness, have the decency to at least apologize or give us a better reason. This has demonstrated a huge lack of respect for your Canadian fans. How do you expect us to respect you, let alone support you now .... not happening! Really great impression for your first concert appearances in Canada - shows how much you actually care. It came clear to me lastnight, that maybe Jennifer and Kristian do not have their passports. As their other Canadian dates were not cancelled and in fact, the same day they cancelled the London and Toronto show, was the same day that the law became in effect that you would need a Passport in order to cross the border. You would THINK that with being International Stars, they would have their Passports..but then again they tour by bus...maybe this is what caused the 'scheduling conflict'. Although, I am not sure as to how it would take 13 months to reschedule a concert date. As it would not take them that long to get a passport.

Ok you people need to lighten up and get a life. There are disappointments in life, deal with them. I've certainly been disappointed after sleeping outside overnight (16 hours)for two front row center tix to see an artist on my birthday only to have her cancel. Sure I was upset, but I didnt' rake her over the coals and expect her to beg my forgiveness. Things happen people and things don't always go your way and you don't always get the apologies you think you should. You'll live. Don't go hatin' people for it, they do the best they can I am sure and they are good people at heart same as you. Some of you act as if they purposefully wounded you. Wow, you guys really need to calm down, i know it sucks that they re-scheduled the concert for more than a year later but im sure thats not how they wanted it... you have to remember that they are very busy, with touring, all the press and such PLUS you have to account for the venues schedules as well. they venues host hundreds if not thousands of events each year (sporting events, concerts and such)

As someone who has had a very difficult two years, your music has always been able to distract me and help me get through whatever was going on. I have been looking forward to this concert for MONTHS and have been waiting for a long time to see you live. I was disappointed this morning when I first heard the concerts were cancelled - actually thought I misheard what was said. I find the message you've posted to be an incredibly insincere method of relaying this information to your fans - especially given the 3-4 day notice of the 13 MONTH postponement? You've disappointed a lot of Canadian fans. I truly hope you realize the impact of this "scheduling conflict" on many of us. Perhaps a personalized message from Jennifer or Kristian wouldn't be too much to ask - an apology wouldn't hurt either. Your fans go above and beyond for you... I think we deserve the same respect.

I waited until Sunday to book all my travel! Now I'm stuck with a last minute non-refundable hotel and train fare for 2!!! I know the economy is booming so loosing that money is no big deal. I will get my refund on my ticket and I will save money now that I no longer have to buy any more Sugarland CDs. I would not have been this bitter if the cancellation was over illness or some other reason but, 3 days before “oops we forgot this other thing we have to do” doesn’t cut it.

very disappointing news. my 13 year old daughter cut out the ad in the paper before tickets went on sale. she's never opened a newspaper and said it must some kind of a sign that she would find an ad for her favorite band the first time she opened one... she still has the ad. she loves sugarland and has bought all their albums with money saved from b.days and other special occasions. she has even learned to play several of their songs on her guitar. she's obviously disappointed but she's a true fan and still loves sugarland. she like all canadian sugarland fans deserve an apology and honest explanation.

It's pretty disappointing that you guys won't be coming to the molsen, I got these tickets for my birthday and screamed so loud that my family actually backed away until I was finished. I guess sometimes it happens but I hope it was for a good reason. I love your music so much that I'm actually going to wait the 13 months. Very disappointing

I think that rescheduling 3 days before a concert is brutal, but there's not even a hint of an apology to the fans. Just a very sterile announcement that people can see them over a YEAR from now. In this world of social media and online community, Sugarland should step up to the plate and be honest with their fans. Tell us why they shows are postponed, and WHY they aren't rescheduled sooner. Bad marketing, bad relationship management. You've got a facebook page and commenting on your site for a reason - use it. Don't just leverage it when it's convenient and positive PR for you. The conversation is just that - a 2 way dialogue. Hello, Sugarland? Are you out there?

Money for flights?

We live in Nova Scotia, and purchased a WestJet vacation package out of Sydney to Toronto to see Sugarland on Friday, June 5th..Yes we did purchase cancellation insurance but policy states that " Cancellations within 21 days of arrival are 100% non-refundable through WestJet Vacations." Due to the fact that you had the decency to cancel 3 Days before show time.. we are now out $1500.00 dollars. Thank you, and would Love to hear from you.

Sugarland Postpones Two Shows in Canada

yeah i am abit ticked about the postponed date. but really how do you tell a 9 year old handicaped child that sorry the show is not going to be in 2 days it is not till next year . he was almost in tears he has been looking forward to this since his birthday april 2 . that was another disapointment going to get in line for tickets at 7 am only 3 people ahead of us and a half hour before they went on sale they come out to say all the frist 3 sections on the floor are sold out that was the whole reason for going so ealry so the boy could have a dream come true he loves music then when we get to the booth to buy ticket the tell us that the side view sections were sold out too all to fan club and charities and that come on what about these people who stood there faithfully waitting to get good seats . the only reason we are not taking our tickets back is my son i don't want him to feel anymore disapointed then he already is he is handicaped and don't understand why he can't go in 2 days he has willams syndrome . honestley if it was just me and my g/f going i would take the tickets back but we can not disapoint him like that . it is not only adults you are hurting here adults can handle abit more but all these inocent little kids who were looking forward to going .

Postponed concert!

I am very disappointed I won't be seeing Sugarland this Thurday. My friend and I were really looking forward to this concert. My husband booked the night off work to look after our child. I would like to know how a 'scheduling conflict' comes up three days before the show! I also have tickets to Keith Urban. He is not coming until the very end of September and I got an e-mail last week that concert had been rescheduled due to a 'scheduling conflict', but the concert is only a day later and I was given lots of notice. Who knows what I'll be doing 13 months from now! I feel like we've been treated really poorly and I hope we get a better explanation.

Sugarland Cancels Two Shows in Canada

Seeing as how this is an anniversary gift for my wife and I and we had to plan for some time to get a sitter to watch our 2 and 4 year olds. In regards to earlier comments -- if it was something serious I am sure that "Scheduling Conflict" would not be the posted reason. Clearly, they would risk such a loss in support and would post another more acceptable reason -- people would understand. This is simply not cool !! Tickets were a gift for our 28th Aniversary (June 6) ... we gave up other plans to attend. I was a huge Sugarland Fan but I'm not so sure now ... still great music. I think I just gave them more credit as down to earth and true to their commitments. If it is something serious ... I hope all is well soon. If it is not -- it is indeed a shame.

i almost had a stroke when i read the headline and when i read this article i burst into tears. this was going to be my first concert ever. i had been looking forward to it for months. toronto is 3 hours away from my house and thats the closest theyre going to get to me while on tour. i dont know what to do with myself now that i dont have sugarland to look forward to. its going to be awhile before i can listen to them again without bing upset. ='(

the news came to me after i booked and lost $905 on air fare ( 2 people, return ) from montreal, and i did try to wait until the last minute, given their lastest cancellations. i've lost ALL the respect i had for sugarland, regardless of the excuse, they knew about something and could've cancelled much earlier. and they have the nerve to call george jones..''no-show'' i 've seen them open for alan jackson, kenny chesney...but , i will see them no more !

I really can't, for the life of me, see how a scheduling conflict could just appear three days prior to a show. The top tickets for the Toronto show were almost double any of the top tickets for the US shows, but I paid it. On top of that, in order to get fan club seats(which admittedly were amazing and I did appreciate how you handled your presales)we had to pay in US dollars, which I did because I have been waiting for years to see you live. It ended up costing me an extra $100 than had I just gotten pretty decent seats from Ticketmaster. This is truly the last straw. Rescheduling for 13 months down the road is unacceptable. I think I have a "scheduling conflict" for July 9, 2010!

DISRESPECT FOR FANS

I am UNBELIEVABLY pissed about this cancelation! I have told anyone and EVERYONE about this concert, I had to FIGHT to get it off of work and it is my first concert since my son has been born. I was extremly excited to see Sugarland with my BFF as i LOVE them dearly.. but i am PISSED about this disgusting display of appreciation for us - their fans. I purchased these tickets from someone.. I better be able to return them.. what a waste of time, effort and money. bullshit.

This totally sucks.....Friday is my birthday and we were going to celebrate it at the concert. Just got into country music not long ago and Sugarland was the first group I got attached to and have really enjoyed the music and was sooooo looking forward to the concert. Since when does a scheduling conflict come up only a couple days before a concert and only for the canadian shows? This is so unfair to all of us who were looking forward to the concert. Truly disappointed

I like many other fans are disappointed with the postponement of the shows. I had plans for that evening and meeting up with friends for a great concert and now that's not possible. But what really bothers me is the treatment towards all of fans. The reason the band gives is "scheduling conflict". What scheduling conflict - how did this happen? Where is a sincere apology or even acknowledgment that they have disappointed their fans? If "scheduling conflict" is really a substitute for something else - why couldn't they have just said that? How about some honesty? Also having to wait more than a year to return is even worse - does anyone ever know what they will be doing a year from now? How do they know the band is available a year in advance, when a "scheduling conflict" occurs within the last 5 months. Where is my reassurance that they will come? I have bought all of their CDs and believe I should at least get a better explanation than "scheduling conflict. I will continue to listen to their music, but i'm not sure I will ever pay to go see them in concert again. Truly disappointed.

Postponement 3 days before concert????????????

This is a huge disppointment to me as I was soooooooooooo looking forward to this night out and this concert. I recently had a beautiful baby girl and this was going to be my first real night out since her birth. I have been looking forward to this for months now~ If someone is sick or there has been a death then I understand...........but the news has reported it as a scheduling conflict??????????? Shouldn't these groups be paying someone to keep their schedules from conflicting?????????????? and shouldn't they have realized sooner that this was going to occur??????????????? Anyway I am very disappointed and this definitely will change my respect and the Sugarland albums that are purchased by me in the future. Think about all the fans that you are going to disappoint before you make such a cancellation and with barely no notice??????????? Come on Sugarland~~~

My friends and I were looking very forward to seeing Sugarland this Friday. And, as many, were planning a whole day for it. A couple of us took the day off work as well. It is understandable if Jennifer is having vocal problems as to why they would have to reschedule, but why 13 months later? That's a little extreme don't you think? Now, if it is not a legitimate illness or family problem then I am thoroughly disgusted. And also the fact that we have not received an officially apology does not sit well with me. Say your sorry!! This incident is completely un called for and ridiculous. I have never heard such a thing , of cancelling a concert 3 days prior to the date without even a proper apology from the artists. I was planning on bringing my 99 ( soon to be 100) year old great grandmother to the concert as she has loved the band since their first hit single " Baby Girl". Unfortuently as my grandmother's health is failing she will most likely be unable to attend THE RESCHEDULED CONCERT IN OVER A YEAR!! I for one wont my money back. Who knows what there going to be doing July,8th,2010? I sure DO NOT!! As to Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush if Canada is so low on your priority list to rudely cancel 2 concerts 3 days before the scheduled date, without a reasonable explanation and apology, your really not worth our time.

Sugarland Postpones Two Shows in Canada

absolutely DISGUISTING! To cancel this close to the concert date because of a scheduling conflict, Give me a break!!! We were traveling there from Montreal, a six hour drive, had school off and work off and we were in the third row!!!. So unprofessional. Is this what Sugarland has become? Wait untill 2010 ? Now I am going to play the heavy here.......on one hand, I a upset because the show was postponed. However, if you were in their shoes....what do you do? Did you ever stop to think before you complained that something MIGHT just be wrong? Someone sick? I don't know exactly WHAT happened but given them some slack!! Don't blame THEM!! It is NOT the artist's fault unless someone is sick!! They are personally NOT the ones doing the bookings and if someone scheduled a couple of things together and didn't realize....SHAME ON THEM but if it was due to something important...... SHAME ON US!! Keep in mind....I realize that there are TONS of you that spent TONS of cash to come to Toronto to see the show and that truly sucks.....to say the least. I agree with the previous poster - it's not the cancellation so much as these things happen - illness etc. - it's the fact that they seriously seem to think people are willing to wait 13 months to see them - so arrogant and disrespectful. Read an interesting note on the internet about Sugarland having to cancel some shows with Keith Urban as of may 12, 2009 due to Jennifer Nettles' having viral tonsillitis - perhaps this is what has created the so-called "scheduling conflict" - maybe those rescheduled shows caused the Canadian shows to be a problem - wouldn't surprise me. If so - very poor decision!

Truely Dissapointed, Ticked Off, Annoyed and Sad

I cant believe it either! I have been dancing around my house to Sugarland songs for the last two days in my excitement of going with my cousin to the Friday show in Toronto. She just called me up to tell me the bad news and I am very upset. When I originally bought the tickets I joined this site and found some interesting comments from others who TRIED to go to their other shows years ago that had also been cancelled due to "conflicts". Some up to three times! I have been to MANY concerts over the years and have not once been cancelled on and many took place at the Molson Ampitheatre. Scheduling Conflict is not an appropriate reason in my opinion - people go to university for 4 years to be qualified event planners so this should never happen, let alone to two Canadian shows. I am a recent country fan of about a year and a half and this is a real let down - if jay z can make it to the Ampitheatre without issues surely Sugarland can! I, as with many others, will be refunding my tickets and have already been invited to see Gretchan Wilson at Casino Rama.

Resceduling a year from now is a crock! They will probably do the same thing then if ticket sales suck. Ticketmaster was still offering seats for sale in Toronto today. Best available were right in front of the stage. If these weren't sold how bad were the sales? I'm getting a refund on these tickets and won't go next year! Can't trust them!

Perhaps the reason behing the scheduling conflict is legit, but a more explicit explanation could have been offered up along with a rescheduled date sooner than 13 months down the road. Perhaps even that bit of an effort to show some respect to the Canadian fans would have been better received. These are the only two Canadian dates they've EVER scheduled and it's highly coincidental that both of those dates have to be rescheduled on such short notice. Regardless of the reason, it should have been handled better.

I know the former remark will spark a few angry flames, but I should say, I too was supposed to go to a concert in May at which Sugarland had to cancel and was hugely disappointed as well. But you're all acting as if you know what the 'scheduling conflict' is - maybe, it's very legit, maybe it's personal, maybe it's not. At least you'll have the opportunity to see them next year, when, if all keeps going as good as it is now.....their concerts will probably be sold out well in advance. So consider yourself lucky in the long run.

I recieved the email from the JLC lastnight saying that it was postponed to..and then I looked at the date and I thought YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FRICKING KIDDING ME!!! A whole year?!? Who the F does that?! Im sure they will be right and ready to go with their other part of the tour when they stop at the date they were scheduled for AFTER T.O! It wouldnt surprise me! And if that IS the case, I will more than gladly refund my tickets!!! bunch of BS if you ask me! 3 days before hand..how hell can you not KNOW earlier in advance?!? very disappointed!!!

Disappointing, Disrespectful and Downright Inexcusable

I am sure I'm not alone in saying that I waited three long years for this band to bless our fine, Country music loving Province with a stop or two on one of their tours. I bided my time, I bought the albums, I watched and cheered their successes at the award shows. I am horrified at what has just happened here. A better explanation at the very least is warranted because we're not backwoods hicks in this country and we aren't buying the "scheduling conflict" line that's being dished out. I agree with what has already been said here... it's incredibly vain of Sugarland to postpone a concert for over a year and expect the fan base they've just slapped in the face to just sit back and wait even longer. I'm done waiting. I'll take my money back and not another cent of my hard-earned income will be spent on Sugarland. I hope that word spreads internationally about how disprespectful they have been towards their Canadian fans. If they've done it to us, they'll do it again. I am genuinely sorry for those fans that forked out even more money to travel from far and wide to the Toronto and London areas to see these concerts!

I just have to say that I am very disappointed with the cancellation of the Toronto show. I have 2 boys aged 10 and 7 that actually worship Sugarland. My 7 year old has actually started writing songs and singing because of them. They were so upset when they found out that they weren't going to the concert in "3 DAYS". You can't tell me that they didn't know about the schedule conflict before hand. I even heard that ticket sales were low and I hope that wasn't the reason. How do you explain to 2 young kids that they have to wait another year to see their favorite band.

What do we do now. I have a prepayed room at the Westin Harbour Castle, 4 tickets for my family and my daughter has a flight booked from Ottawa to Toronto. so we are in for $600.00 minimum and havnt even left Sudbury yet. I agree ...who has a scheduling conflict 3 days before a concert...I just found out luckily by looking up to see who the opening act was ...and than reschedules for next year...Love the group but unless Sugarland picks up my unused tab I am out a lot of dollars. All I wanted to "do oo oo o oooo" was see SUGARLAND this Thursday. My group and I have been looking forward to this concert for MONTHS! I'm a huge HUGE supporter of Sugarland, and was extremely disapointed when I recieved the email last night telling me the show has been postponed. I figured it would be postponed until the next month, but a YEAR? Thats insane! I think my jaw is still sitting at my computer. Who knows where we will even be in a year! I highly doubt this was a "scheduling conflict" I heard that it was because they do not have passports? I find that hard to believe that a crew of as many as Sugarland has did not get them a passport in time? Here in London and Toronto we don't get many HUGE acts come to our areas like Sugarland. We all were VERY excited to see them. I guess there is nothing we can do about it now, but just hope that everyone in the band is well, hoping these shows were not postponed due to an illness or something. I guess I am just disapointed that the shows were only cancelled in Canada, seems fishy to me :( I will be keeping my tickets and am already looking forward to seeing them in a year, but it is just such a longgggggggggggggg time away

So dissapointed...

I just learned that the concert this Friday is cancelled and I am so dissapointed. These tickets were a gift from my husband for my Birthday. He knows how much I love Sugarland and after a very rough year I was very much looking forward to a girls night out. This will be the first year in 6 years that I wasn't going to be able to attend Fan Fair in Nashville so I was even more excited to see Sugarland here in Toronto. I just don't understand why the concert is put off for more than a year? Well I guess there is nothing we can do about it at this point. I think they are still great people who make great music and I for one will continue to be a fan regardless.

If "Scheduling Conflict" actually means "Poor Ticket Sales" as I suspect it does, then you can forget about selling MORE tickets next year since the majority of fans that were willing to come out THIS WEEK to see your show (which was already charging more for tickets in Toronto then it was at your US shows) won't be buying tickets again! I for one am getting a refund. You realize 2-3 days before a show that there is a scheduling conflict? Do you not care enough about your fans to check the calendar more than 1 week before your dates? Nevermind discussing the rescheduled dates being MORE THAN 1 YEAR AWAY. The whole situation is ridiculous.

It is very hard to believe that rescheduling conflict in only a matter of days. I absolutely love this band and I will continue to love your music regardless. I wish that there was some way it could be rescheduled before next year, I mean, July 2010 is more than a year away. The economy in Canada is not greatest right now and we still managed to spend the money on your show, obviously because we love your music so much. Unfortunately, there will be many disapointed Canadians that will probably get their money back instead of waiting.. at the moment I'll wait until next year, however that could change. I would just like to say how is it that you only determined you had a scheduling conflict within less than a week of the show?!? Do you not have people that plan these things and would have seen you were double booked or whatever the case may be? And rescheduled for 13 months away!? Are you joking?
