George Strait was recently named the ACM Artist of the Decade. The special aired on CBS May 27th. His friend, Lee Ann Womack, was on hand to pay tribute to the King of Country. She sang a duet with Jamey Johnson of the number one single “Give It Away”, and then solo, sang a song specifically written for the event. George had no idea the song was written or going to be performed and became emotional when he heard it. Stand There and Sing
LeeAnn, please release this song as a record. You singing this song to George at the Artist of the Decade Award show was the highlight of the night. I was there for the taping, and I can tell you I was in tears by the time you finished it. You sung it from the heart, I could tell. You love him too. George has some longfime fans - like me - who are very grateful to the writers and to you and the ACM for bringing that song to the stage to be recorded on the show, and to George and us. That's what we want.. just stand there and sing George! Please, please, release this song for us. ~ Linda Robbins, GeorgeStraitFever.Org
