CHICAGO (April 21, 2009) – Great musicians. Great songs. Great bars.
Those three classic ingredients combine to create Uncovered – Playboy.com’s new video feature showcasing artists performing covers of iconic songs in some of the world’s most legendary music bars.
Uncovered launches with Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Jamey Johnson sitting in Loser’s, just off Nashville’s Music Row, and singing Waylon Jennings’ “Dreaming My Dreams With You,” accompanied only by his acoustic Epiphone.
“Dreaming My Dreams with You” is featured on Johnson’s latest album, That Lonesome Song, which was just certified gold this week.
To introduce the song Johnson, whose song “In Color” won the Academy of Country Music’s 2009 Song of the Year, talks about growing up listening to great music by great artists – especially Jennings, who was “one of those guys who always left a little nugget of wisdom in his music.” Johnson’s commentary, combined with his soulful, heartfelt singing, make this Uncovered premiere video a hauntingly memorable performance.
