Jamey Johnson to tour with Willie Nelson

FOR THE LEGENDARY WILLIE NELSON
JOHNSON WILL PERFORM HIS NEW SINGLE “HIGH COST OF LIVING”
ON THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO FEBRUARY 5
Nashville, TN – If you have seen Mercury recording artist Jamey Johnson perform, chances are you have noticed an autograph on his acoustic guitar
(which he affectionately calls “Old Maple.”) That signature belongs to one of his musical heroes Willie Nelson. Johnson is confirmed to open shows for Nelson in March. “I can’t believe I get to open gigs for one of my heroes,” says Johnson. “I first met Willie when I performed at Farm Aid last year and
I got to hang out with him on his bus. That was a career highlight.”
Another career highlight for Johnson is being nominated for three Grammy awards – Best Country Album, Best Male Country Vocal Performance and
Best Country Song. “To be recognized by other musicians and songwriters and all of the creative people who are Grammy voters is just the ultimate validation,” says Johnson. “And to be able to share these nominations and my Grammy experience with my band, The Kent Hardly Playboys, is so cool. They are the ones who made this album sound unique. Look out L.A., here we come!” The 51st Annual Grammy Awards will air on Sunday, February 8
at 8pm et/pt on CBS.
Prior to Grammy weekend, Johnson will perform his new single “High Cost of Living” on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday, February 5th.
Johnson will also appear on GAC’s On The Streets February 3 and GAC’s Top 20 February 6.
