Julianne Hough is best-known as a double champion on Dancing With the Stars, so it’s no surprise that she is finding a way to stay in shape on the road.
Now on tour with Brad Paisley, Hough says, “We do a lot of outdoor amphitheatres, so there will be a huge lawn in the back, with stairs that go up, so we’ll run up the stairs, run across the lawn, go down the stairs, and we’ll do it so it’s a nice pace - and then we’ll book it! Just sprint as fast as we can! It’s tough, but it’s fun. It’s cool to be able to say, ‘Oh my gosh, I have experienced this venue.’ There was this one place where there was a race track for horses, and I got to run around that. It’s pretty cool that you get to travel around the country. Some people could stay on their bus, or in their little catering area. But I’m like, ‘I wanna go see this.’”
Her catchy first single, “That Song in My Head,” has already caught the attention of country fans, and she describes her current album as “fun and positive and about being strong - as a girl, as a woman. There’s nothing on the CD that’s negative, but I can tell you that the next CD will be a little more personal. I’m going to be writing a lot. I didn’t have a hand in writing anything on this first one, because of the time frame. The window of opportunity, I guess you could say. This next one is going to be a lot more personal.”
In the meantime, check out her self-titled debut album.
